Two Months Old Today

I can't believe that today I am two months old already...it is so exciting to start feeling grown up.

I was so happy...at least until I got my two-month "birthday present." And perhaps you thought you have received some crummy birthday presents.

I didn't expect a thing, just a normal Dr. appt, which went well. Dr. Hipp was very happy with my progress. I am right on track with weight (10 lbs., 14 oz) and length (22 in).

And then BAM, 6 vaccines (3 shots) out of nowhere.

Daddy, thank you for holding my hand. I didn't know babies could change colors; look now I'm purple. Mommy and Daddy claim though that these vaccinations are the best two-month present a baby could get.

Grandma Reineke is more in my camp with what "presents" should be and gave me a My First Baby Doll. A great comfort item that I will have to remember to bring to my next series of vaccinations.

Morgan's 1st Easter

We had a great time celebrating Morgan's 1st Easter in Carlisle, PA with Grandma & Grandpa Brown, Aunt Stephanie and Uncle Matt.

The Easter Bunny was sure to make an appearance. Daddy - no fair telling Morgan where all the eggs are hidden.

Morgan was so happy to find her first one...and with a few more "hints" from Daddy was able to find them all. :)

Since it was such a nice day, we took a quick trip to visit Aunt Stephanie's horse, "Naughty." She is a real sweetheart, nothing like her name implies. Even so, we thought it was best to let Mommy feed the horse this time.

A 1st Easter is a lot for a little girl to take in...time for a nap with Morgan's new buddy Bunny.

Tummy Time

Aunt Andrea (who happens to be a physical therapist) recommended that Morgan start having some fun with "Tummy Time." Don't let the crying fool you; check her out trying to sneak in a couple Zzzz's. Doesn't seem too bad once she gets the hang of it. There's a rumor that Aunt Andrea is coming to visit soon from Chicago to check out our progress and with some more exercises...we better get practicing.

Now that Morgan is getting more interactive and smiley, Mommy and Daddy are having even more fun playing with her. And if she actually started figuring out this sleep thing, we are convinced she would be even happier. Not getting our hopes up yet though; we are learning the saying "sleeping like a baby" has definitely been used incorrectly. ;)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hope you are able to celebrate this fun holiday by wearing some green...

Or eating some corned beef... (Daddy and Morgan are checking out our traditional corned beef/potato/cabbage 1-pot St. Patty's day dinner. YUMMY!)

Or having some good ole' Irish cheer. (hmmm, perhaps a Guinness!)

Well Morgan's ready to eat. (Easy on the cabbage Mommy, please.)

One St. Patty's day down...many more to come. Can't wait till next year!

Roadtrip

Grandma Brown, Aunt Stephanie, Mommy and I just got back from my first roadtrip to Indiana to visit some relatives and attend Aunt Hillary's baby shower. First stop...Grandma's house in Carlisle, PA for my first night away from home.

Sorry Grandpa...Girls Only!
We made only a couple stops along the way for a quick feed and diaper change. Mommy had to get creative with the diaper change given the cold weather and less than ideal gas stations; thank goodness for the huge arm rest in Grandma's big new SUV.

Even with the 10 hr drive, I was a complete angel in the car. But we were all excited to finally arrive at Great-Grandma Donna's house.

We all really enjoyed the week! I spent some quality time bonding with my co-travelers. I loved meeting my Great-Grandma Donna (see my four generations picture). I also got to meet Aunt Hillary and Aunt Andrea and take a picture with all 3 of my aunts! Not an easy task considering they live in PA, Chicago and North Dakota. Funny we were able to travel to IN to get together. And I met a bunch of other people at the baby shower for my soon-to-arrive cousin.

There was plenty of time for playing, holding, hugs, and kisses from everyone (including my Great Uncle Stan and Great Aunt Melinda).

Poor Daddy almost didn't recognize me when we got back home with how much I have changed this past week. I am definitely more alert, seeing more clearly and following objects. And I am having a ball talking (ok, maybe cooing), smiling, and laughing up a storm.
The roads coming back were horrible due to a big snow storm in IN & OH. But Grandma pressed on, despite passing several accidents and cars that had fallen off the road. Thank goodness we were back home in time to help Daddy celebrate his birthday yesterday and give him his presents: two sailing books and an ice cream cake from Cold Stone Creamery.

Still a Newborn?

For Morgan's 1-month picture the whole family got in on the fun. From her facial expression, she may actually be enjoying this photography stuff. :) Sitting tall and smiling she looks so grown up!
Morgan's 1-month Dr. appt went well. She weighed in at 9lbs. 2 oz and was 21 1/2 in long. The Dr. was happy with her progress and said everything looked great! Mommy and Daddy had a sad realization though when making her next (2-month) appt; the receptionist said Morgan was no longer her eligible for the "newborn" timeslot.
So back home we just couldn't resist documenting some adorable tiny newborn parts.
