Three Month Birthday

I can't believe I made it to 3 months already! I have already done so much growing and developing.

But Mommy and Daddy are convinced that there are still some parts that are just as tiny as the day I came home.

Good Morning

Yesterday Mommy mentioned my strong legs...check out some evidence. Look where I managed to push myself to in my crib. Good morning Mommy! I may be getting big, but I still fit sideways. :)

Oh my hands!

Morgan has finally "found" her hands and has been getting used to them for the past week. We are so relieved that she has something to comfort herself with. (This past weekend we offically admitted defeat on the pacifier front by returning our unopened back-up pack to Babies R Us.) How lucky are we not to have to keep track of a pacifier though...a hand is hard to lose and free!

We think she may have just found her toes too, but the jury is still out if she knows that they are attached. Morgan definitely is aware of her legs though and she loves standing (with help of course). They are super strong and Daddy helps her exercise with tons of kicking. Also, check out the head control!

Post-Publish Note (4/26/08): Morgan definitely recognizes her hands and knows they are attached now. Today it was so neat to see her watch herself open and close her fists; her facial expression was pure amazement as she was realizing she was the one doing it. :)

Alertness = Fun

As Morgan gets more and more alert, she is really enjoying interacting with the world around her and even starting to have some fun with all her toys. When she is happy, the shrieks and shrills start flying and her feet go a mile a minute.
She loves looking at the mobile and aquarium in her crib. Look at those feet go!

Morgan also loves sounds and music. Sometimes while we are making dinner she will enjoy the safari music from her bouncey seat. And during diaper changes, she has a great time making noises with her crinkly rooster.

She is also just starting to get the hang of her playmat which is perfect for Tummy Time.

This past weekend Morgan had a fun time at a playdate with her new buddy Abigale (born Jun 2007). Ok well maybe Abigale thought Morgan was the toy and Morgan didn't know what to think, but in a few short months I am sure they will be great friends. :)

R & R

After surviving a hectic March (and February), so far April is no where near as crazy, giving the Brown family some much needed R&R. This is also allowing Mommy and Morgan to start settling into a routine.
Morgan continued practicing Tummy Time and is getting pretty good at head control.

Daddy caught up on some tv shows, but don't worry, mostly sticking to educational Discovery and History channels. Morgan doesn't yet know what all the fuss is about, but she will be able to recite the top 10 Dirty jobs in the USA by the time she is two.

Mommy actually finished her book, just in time for yesterday's Book Club. Morgan didn't quite make it all the way through, but she went anyway and had a great time.

R&R wouldn't be complete without some naps. Sleep-time is definitely getting better, and one night last week Morgan actually made it 10pm-4am. There are still some bumps and surprises, but things are starting to calm down.

Visitors from Chicago, Part II

This past week Grandma Reineke came back for another visit (I am just too irresistible!) and this time brought my Uncle Tyler for his Spring break. And then later in the week Aunt Andrea flew out to join us.

We had a ton of fun visiting, playing Wii and going on a few nearby outings. One day for lunch we took our visitors to El Cancun...one of Mommy and Daddy's favorite restaurants. We couldn't help but notice that the Mariachi music got a bit louder after we arrived. :)

This group sure knows how to party...a few late nights, led to a few rough mornings. Now I am trying hard to get back on a routine and get used to the quiet.

Aunt Andrea kept her word and brought out some helpful exercises and skill tests for us to work on. My development is going great! Right on track. But just look at all those milestones yet to come.

For right now, I am happy sticking with smiling, cooing, and updating my blog (apparently I am pretty advanced in that category. ) ;)
