Summer (2011)

After a really crazy spring...the summer seemed to go at a relatively slower pace. We had a regular routine of spending at least one weeknight at the local pool (much less crowded than the weekends), Tuesday attending concert in the park (Morgan had a great time dancing to all the music), and Thursday at Lake Nockamixon on the sailboat (Daddy's favorite time of the week). We also spent a lot of time in our own raised garden (which produced quite the crop for its size...squash, zucchini, eggplant, peppers - red/green/hot, peas, spinach, carrots, berries, and herbs).

We also experimented with eating almost exclusively farm raised foods...particularly from our favorite farmer at the Lansdale Farmer's Market (Matt from Willow Springs Farms), the organic Longview Market and two delicious dairies Merry Mead and Freddy Hill.

This is how we passed most of the summer...it was really nice.

We also had a few events thrown in, including Wendy's wedding in July, Pop-Pop's birthday party in Aug, and the big finale of the summer...our Brown family vacation in Williamsburg (we braved the Hurrican Irene aftermath and drove down to the resort which still did not have power; on the plus side there weren't many crowds at the park).
